Luke Foley launched NSW Labor’s election campaign yesterday in Campbelltown.

Unveiling Labor’s election slogan of “a new approach”, Mr Foley laid out Labor’s agenda should it win office at the general election on 28 March.

Luke Foley announces Labor's frontbench line-up

Luke Foley has announced Labor’s frontbench line-up ahead of the NSW election.

Few changes have been made to Labor’s Shadow Ministry, as the Party readies itself for the 28 March poll.

Luke Foley elected NSW Labor Leader

The Hon Luke Foley MLC has been elected unanimously as NSW Labor Leader.

His election at a special meeting of caucus follows the resignation of John Robertson MP as Opposition Leader on 23 December 2014. Linda Burney MP – who has been Acting Opposition Leader over the Christmas period – remains Deputy Leader.

Daniel Andrews has been officially sworn in as the 48th Victorian Premier following Labor’s election on Saturday.

Planning System Improvements Announced

The NSW Government has announced major reforms to its approval processes for planning decisions, with changes set to streamline the process to favour efficiency and certainty.

The Government has set an ambitious target for the Planning and Assessment Commission (PAC) to speed up the decision making process on significant projects, like mines or manufacturing plants, by up to 170 days.

Troy Grant elected Leader of the NSW Nationals

Troy Grant has been elected unopposed as the new Leader of the NSW Nationals.

He will become the 17th Deputy Premier of New South Wales, replacing Andrew Stoner who yesterday announced that he was stepping down as Leader and would not contest the next election.

Deputy Premier to retire at the election

Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner has just announced that he will not contest the next election.

Mr Stoner will step down as Leader of the Nationals but will continue to serve in Cabinet.

A ballot for the leadership will take place tomorrow.

Mr Stoner was first elected to the Legislative Assembly, representing the District of Oxley, in 1999 and was promoted to the opposition frontbench three years later.
