Ian is Managing Director at PremierNational, overseeing engagement with all clients across the firm. Having worked with a range of clients across all industries over the past eight years, including professional services, energy and resources, infrastructure, finance and property, Ian has a wealth of experience in strategy, project management and delivery. 

Ian has led client projects across the breadth of PremierNational’s service offerings, including advising clients on engaging with State and Federal governments on multi-billion dollar infrastructure transactions; in the preparation and strategy development of Senate and other government inquiries; in business transformation projects with multi-national companies and investment funds to position them to work better with government; and in the development and execution of government engagement strategies on project-specific proposals or issues. 

Before commencing at PremierNational, he worked in the Sydney office of global law firm Baker & McKenzie.  In the Corporate and Energy & Resources teams, Ian worked on a broad range of corporate governance, joint ventures, general commercial and restructuring matters, as well as mergers & acquisitions, including the privatisation of NSW’s electricity assets and sale of other major infrastructure. 

Ian is also the Co-Founder of Clean Energy Strategies, an investment advisory firm focused on the renewable energy sector. In 2019, Clean Energy Strategies led the commercial structuring of the world’s first Industry-Scale Aggregated Power Purchase Agreement, bringing together over 400 hotels to procure around 150GWh of energy per annum from a new large-scale solar farm in NSW. 

Ian sits on the board of the LilleFro Foundation, an Australian charity undertaking education projects in remote northern India. He is also a director of GovConnex; an innovative Australian company that is leading the automation of research into Government.

Ian studied a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Business (Economics) at the University of Technology, Sydney.
